Chox-Mak, DJ YRS Jerzy & North Villah - Smoke Break
New music from Chox-Mak & DJ YRS Jerzy is now available via Phatleaks.com. As always, the beat, production, and quality is sounding fresh from these cats. This time they bring you that mellow vibe that you can put something in the air to. I'm really digging that oldschool style on the ones and twos and it almost feels like it is 1993 inside my headphones! It is a breath of fresh air to hear an emcee, dj and producer doing their thing and clicking on a track. Jam for Jam, you will not be disapointed by Chox-Mak, DJ YRS Jerzy & North Villah. One love fam, light on and keep it real. Be sure to follow these cats on twitter: @Chox_mak910 @IAMDJYRSJERZY @NorthVillah

Cage - Kill the Architect
The twisted rhymes of Cage are back to haunt listeners right in time for Halloween! I was a huge fan of Movies for the Blind and Hells Winter but was not really feeling the new direction he took with his last album Depart From Me, however this new album is really, really good. It sounds like Cage is going back to his dark roots with songs like "Lamb of Nothing" and "The Hunt". Teaming up once again with legendary producer Mighy Mi, this album has an oldschool feel with Cage's new age touches sprinkled on top. As an artist, Cage continues to push the envelope by using his tortured past to weave his dark and mysterious ballads. He also reveals his classic warped sense of humour in songs like "Cursed" where he pokes fun at himself for the listeners' amusement. Growing up loving hip hop in the 90s, Cage was one of the illest emcees to ever bring a haunting perspective to hip hop in a way that hadn't been really been done before and just like many other underground hip hop heads in that era, I became a huge fan of his authentic flows. It is great to hear him making music again and to observe him evolve but I also enjoy the fact that he is catering to some of his oldschool fans by bringing back that shocking imagery in his rhyme schemes. Be sure to buy his new album Kill The Architect on iTunes:

Jane Plank
This week we salute singer/songwriter Jane Plank and we have added some of her new remixed tracks to the Phatleaks rotation! Hailing from Hopkins, Minnesota, Jane Plank brings to the table soulful vocal melodies over soothing guitar riffs and strings that will blow your mind. She is not afraid to experiment with techno remixing as we heard that in the songs she submitted to us. Jane fell in love with performing at an early age playing the role of Tammy Duncan in Disney's "Mighty Ducks" movie when she was only 12 years old! She then went on to receive a vocal and theater scholarship and graduated with a minor in music/vocals. Around 2006 Jane started writing original music and lyrics, and she has continues to rock crowds to this day. Be sure to be on the look out for big things to come from Jane follow this her here:

New Music from Hip Hop Artist Coalesce on Wise Word Entertainment
Phatleaks is pleased to announce that we have added new music into our daily rotation from Hip Hop Artist Coalesce. For those of you who don't know, Coalesce is a talented veteran underground rapper and producer with a rap sheet of ill tracks being released year after year straight killing it on the internet and at live shows. I first ran into this emcee rapping with this cat named Nonsense back in the day and I instantly became a fan after hearing his word play and flow. The way Coalesce messes with syllables and forces an insane amount of words into a single bar will turn any hip hop head into a fan, no doubt.
As a producer, I have always admired Coalesce's beats. He engineers a wide variety of beat styles and tempos blending oldschool and new school techniques. From orchestra strings to bass lines that vibrate your brain stem, no instrument is off limits for Coalesce. The ability to create an epic instrumental and then go write nasty lyrics to it is a skill that should be recognized and praised more often in hip hop and this dude tackles both tasks like a pro.
So obviously I was psyched to get my hands on some of his new trax after bumping into him at mutual friend's wedding and catching up with him. After chatting with him and throwing back a few beers, I also learned that Coalesce has recently formed an Entertainment Company/Record Label called "Wise Word Entertainment". Wise Word drops some serious music from local artists so be sure to keep an eye out for these up and coming musicians. Do yourself a big favor and follow Wise Word Ent on Twitter (@WiseWordEnt) and like them on Facebook so you can discover new artists and music on the daily:

DJ YRS Jerzy Ft. Chox-Mak - Pimp Musik
We have added DJ YRS Jerzy's new song "Pimp Musik" featuring Chox-Mak to our daily rotation. Get your doobies rolled up because Jerzy & Chox-Mak deliver that classic baller pimp juice over a nasty beat that knocks with a 70's vibe. This song is dope, no doubt and reminds me of old school Jay-Z. Be sure to look out for them in our daily record spin and check them out on Soundcloud:

Dame-O Real Love
Damien “Dame-O” Hodges has got a lot of soul and some serious lyrical skills which you can hear in his song "Real Love". Dame-O brings love back to hip hop which is a really nice change of pace. In a genre where beefs, money, drugs, violence and high profile diss tracks seem to get the most attention, it is nice to hear an emcee like Dame-O bring some refreshing flavor and put love back into the mix. Home to the southeast side of Chicago, Dame-O has put in some dedicated work into his career earning a B.A. in Entertainment and Media Management as well as building a solid name for himself as a multi-talented music producer, artist, singer-songwriter, Dj, and entrepreneur. Using vintage samples and hard hitting drums, Dame-O makes that soulful hip-hop that gets you into the groove and inspires listeners to travel back to a time when hip hop was about expressing yourself and cooling with your friends. He is currently working on his second solo album “Dame Meets World” slated for release in 2013 and his debut solo album “The Dame-O Show” dropped back in 2011. Phatleaks is pleased to announce that we have added Dame-O's "Real Love" and "Green Time" into our daily rotation. Be sure to follow this artist on twitter and check out his website:

EioN "Electro Acoustic" introducing Kendra
Electronic Indie Rock artist EioN has sent us a new track entitled "It's Dangerous to Go Alone" and it is PHAT! Using a mixture of analog, digital and even a Nintendo Game Boy, this creative producer makes some very unique music. About 20 seconds into the song, I found myself singing along and I didn't even know the lyrics. The music made by EioN is as catchy as it is trippy, blending both indie rock and electric genres into one soothing medley of sounds. I was also pleased to hear a deut with his feature Kendra as the two singers did a great job of balancing each others vocal ranges. This song gives off a Death Cab for Cutie/Tobaxxo vibe, so if you like those two artists, you will definitly like EioN. We have added this song to our daily rotation so be sure to look out for EioN and show his facebook page some love:

Terrance Smalls
Phatleaks is very pleased with Terrance Smalls recent Politics EP which we have uploaded into our daily rotation. This emcee's classic laid back flow and clever rhyme delivery will hook any hip hop head who knows good music. His choice of beats to rap over are very unique, often sampling Jazz and simple drum and bass which are pleasing combonations to the ear drums. More rappers need to do this, I love that oldschool Jazz feel and rappers should start bringing that back. Drum, Bass, horns and a gifted emcee make for an incredible hip hop song. In his song "All That Jazz", Terrance's hook "I got a mind full of gold and a pocket full of problems" was not only catchy but enlightening. Take a listen to this rapper's two cents and you could walk away with a mind full of gold yourself! Whether you write raps or are just a fan of hip hop, you will appreciate this emcee so be sure to check him out:

Suns Of Creation - This is S.O.C.
Mad props go out to S.O.C. for hooking up Phatleaks with an early copy of their new mix tape "This Is S.O.C." We were honored to leak their new trax to the public, which were absolutely FIRE by the way, before it is available tomorrow for download via www.datpiff.com. Emcees Sean Typhon and Wize Hassan make up the ultimate underground hip hop duo Suns Of Creation (S.O.C.) and these rappers are gritty to the core. Putting their minds, bodies and souls into every rhyme they write, you can tell these dudes literally eat, sleep and breathe hip hop. Hard to pick, but if I had to, "Just Kids" would be my favorite joint off the new mix tape because the guitar in the beat adds a really catchy vibe and the lyrics make me think of a time when I was younger. That is what I love about these dudes, they have the ability to use their pens and make you relate which is truly a beautiful thing. Make sure you find these lyricists and like them on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/SunsOfCreation) and follow them on twitter (@SOCHipHop) because they will not disappoint you with their music. Don't forget to download their mix tape when it drops tomorrow via www.datpiff.com and check out their website for the latest S.O.C. news: http://www.sunsofcreation.net

Kimbro - Thank You ft. Speek Eazy
Phatleaks has been hooked up by http://ill-it.com/ with up and coming rapper Kimbro. Kimbro comes out of Roanoke, VA and brings a breath of fresh air to hip hop. His metaphor game is on point and he sincerely gives inspiration to his listeners with songs about his own personal life experiences. Inspiration is really important with music and an artist who can give that is truly gifted. Every writer, musician, artist, producer or even a fan gets uninspired, tired and fed up from time to time and it takes an artist like Kimbro to come along and give them that spark they needed to pick up the pen and go back to the drawing board. As soon as I heard the opening synth intro to "Thank You", I began feeling the vibes that were bumping into my headphones. The drum then hit hard followed by Kimbro’s vocals that command the listener to feel his struggle and hear his thoughts. The overall sound is very unique, very new age and it is tough to even put it in a category like west coast or east coast. Kimbro demonstrates his out of the box thinking with "Thank You" and I really wish contemporary rappers would follow his lead in pushing the envelope by being more creative with their works. We have added some of his new trax to our daily rotation so you can expect to hear a lot from Kimbro in the near future. Do yourself a favor and go download his mixtape for FREE here:

Yaya Gabbana
Phatleaks is proud to present Yaya Gabbana, an iLL female emcee hailing from Boston, MA. She recently hooked us up with some new trax and we have added them to our live stream so be sure to keep an ear out for this hip hop artist in our daily mixes. Yaya rhymes with confidence using that classic hip hop gritty braggadocio demeanor. She's got style, she's got class and most of all she's got rhyming skills that will leave you mesmerized! In her song "My City" she represents her roots and displays herself as an established Boston emcee not to be messed with. She even takes a funny jab at Chris Brown which had me laughing my ass off: "Drop a freestyle and shut the whole city down, can't control your mouth, I black ya eye, CHRIS BROWN!" Yaya packs some serious punch lines so if you emcee, beefing with her may not be the best of ideas. All of the songs I have heard by this girl have been over dope club banging beats that have a hint of dirty south, which makes for a killer combination. This girl is putting in some serious work so be sure to keep an eye out for her. You can download her mix tape here: http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/YayaGabbana/mixtape/

Joey Werra - The Forgotten One
If you are looking for one of the hardest working rhyme writers from around the Wey, just google Joey Werra or Sleepless Side Effects. This dude has put in countless hours, days, weeks, months and years into crafting some of the most complex rhyme patterns and composing some of the phattest beats ever. If you haven't heard him yet, just peep his music video below for his single "The Forgotten One" off of his most recent album "As Of Lately" which is available for FREE here: http://sleeplesssideeffects.com/aol.html#sthash.RqCqNk33.dpbs. Over the past 14+ years, he has made a strong name for himself as a fire emcee as well as a hook machine with melodic flows that will leave his songs stuck in your head for days. Joey's style can go from mellow to rapid speed in about a nano second impressing listeners with that quick pace syllable delivery. This emcee is one of the most creative artists I have ever met in just about every type of medium (audio, video, digital, drawings, etc) you name it. Joey keeps it real at all costs on wax as well as on stage and you will not be disappointed by any track he puts out or show he performs. You will be hearing a lot from this rapper on the Phatleaks live stream so stay tuned! Check out his website http://sleeplesssideeffects.com/.
TOOL announces new album

If you didn't know, now you do courtesy of PHATLEAKS.com! In an interview with http://www.ultimate-guitar.com, Tool's drummer Danny Carey has publically announced that they could have their new album finished as early as the end of 2013. One of my all time favorite bands, I really respect how these guys have kept a mysterious presence even after they blew up. Carey also said that they are trying to introduce some new sounds on this record but in his opinion no matter how hard they try, it always comes out sounding like Tool. Great news for Tool fans, be on the look out for this early/middle 2014.

Dr. Dre/Trent Reznor Collab?!?!?!
For months there have been tons of rumors that Dr. Dre and Trent Reznor are planning a collaboration. Trent has stated on twitter that this will not be what the listeners are expecting and for the most part both have been very quiet on the over all collab. I am a HUGE Dr. Dre fan and an even BIGGER Trent Reznor Fan. Both musical production gods together would be EPIC and I really hope that this is not just a rumor or a hoax started by internet wierdos living in their mother's basements with nothing better to do. This is not the first time Trent has entered the hip hop world, for those of you with an ear to the undergound may have heard him work with rapper/producer EL P on a song called Flyentology which was made into an awesome animated music video. Trent's industrial mindset infused with Dre's hip hop production would be BEASTILY. If I find a snippet, you know I'll be leaking that in the mix! Fingers crossed, let's hope this is not a rumor.
